Dealer or Private Seller?

When your buying a car, you have so many different choices in today's market. But at the end of the day it unusually comes down to price and quality. This short guide will give you some basic pros and cons on whether to buy from a private seller or dealer.

Hats off to someone who decides to sell their car privately instead of trading it in but keep in mind, it's hard to sell a car. Most of the time you will lose money on trading your car in. Many people are too busy to sell their car or get pressured into trading in when they are buying their new car. However, if your car is in good condition, the best option is to sell it yourself.

The best place to find a Private Seller is Craigslist. They have a pretty decent sized inventory on their for you choose from. Another place to check out is Yahoo Autos and eBay. Most private sellers will be hard to find as you will have to separate them from the dealerships. A good way to do this is to check their username. Most dealerships will use the dealership name as their username. Another way is to check the background of the pictures. Dealerships will take a picture of their cars in a lot, where private sellers will pose the car outside their homes.

You stand a good chance of getting a better price with a private seller, but there will be few guarantees and the car will not have been serviced by mechanics which is a common practice at most dealerships.
