Answer: Your best bet is to call the local police department and give them the VIN. Most car auctions do this anyway but you never know.

Question: Is an old police car a good buy?

Answer: An old police car is going to have a lot of wear and tear on it, especially the old crown vics. My advice is to hold off on them but if you see one with low miles it might be worth it.
