Comprehensive Solutions for Orthopedic Problems
As experts in the musculoskeletal system, our orthopedic specialists address a spectrum of common orthopedic conditions that can affect nearly every joint in the body. Whether you experienced a sports injury or another orthopedic injury, our team will work to find the best treatment option for you.
In some cases, joint pain can be treated with one of many nonsurgical options, including injections, lifestyle changes, over-the-counter pain relievers and physical therapy. But when pain becomes severe, residents of the Lowcountry have access to a variety of minimally invasive orthopedic surgeries, including:
- Arthroscopy, an outpatient procedure used to treat knee pain, hip pain or shoulder pain; carpal tunnel syndrome; torn knee ligaments; and rotator cuff repair
- Anterior, posterior and direct superior hip replacements, different approaches to joint replacement used based on your individual health and needs
- Spine surgeries that reduce pain, spare healthy tissue and ease recovery
- Total and partial knee replacements that involve some of today's most advanced technologies, including Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery, which uses 3D modeling for greater precision
- Microsurgical nerve repair to alleviate problems caused by nerve compression

The Beaufort Memorial Joint Replacement Center
If you experience life-limiting knee or hip pain, your orthopedic surgeon may recommend joint replacement surgery. The Beaufort Memorial Joint Replacement Center is specifically designed to deliver both a positive experience and an excellent outcome.
Our team of experts offer comprehensive care throughout your procedure. Our program includes:
- A joint care coordinator who guides you through treatment and is always available to answer questions
- Preoperative education and support, including interventions prior to surgery that will help ensure you have the best possible outcome
- Therapy that begins shortly after your procedure and has been shown to lower postsurgical complications
- Outpatient rehab with physical and occupational therapists, who help you continue to recover successfully
The Joint Replacement Center is one of only three in South Carolina to have earned advanced disease-specific certification for hip and knee replacement from The Joint Commission and, since 2015, has been recognized with the commission's coveted “Gold Seal of Approval.” However, what we're most proud of is the work we do every day — helping Lowcountry residents regain mobility, live without pain and resume activities once out of reach.
From the welcoming Lowcountry feel of the center and beautiful views of the Beaufort River to the special personal touches and friendly staff, you'll experience the difference of our wellness model for joint care and recovery.
